Generation of hydrolysates from rice bran proteins using a combined ultrasonication-Alcalase hydrolysis treatment

چکیده
Hydrolysis of rice bran protein (RBP) using a physical-enzymatic combined method (ultrasound-Alcalase) was carried out. The RBP extracted an ultrasound-aided alkaline extraction and then the extract hydrolysed. Furthermore, ultrasounication used prior to Alcalase hydrolysis (pH 8.5, 10 min, 55 °C). Two variables were considered operate ultrasonication: power (50, 100 150 w) duration treatment (10, 25 40 min). results showed that degree (DH%) increased with increasing duration. highest DH (27.35 ± 0.45%) associated hydrolysates obtained by ultrasonication (150 w, min)-Alcalase treatment. optimal condition for found at 50 w-10 where bioactive peptides (BAPs) had 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl free radical (DPPH•) scavenging activity (86.55 1.17%) lipase inhibitory (57.57 0.91%). optimized studied in terms physicochemical structural properties. mass distribution materials high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) showing lower molecular weight proteins all generated compared non-hydrolysed samples. agreement analysis sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Ultrasonication enhanced effect enzyme affecting structure proteins. This confirmed investigation fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy ultraviolet–visible spectrophotometry. Using ultrasound different conditions enzymatic influenced biological properties BAPs from RBP.

Colon and Breast Anti-cancer Effects of Peptide Hydrolysates Derived from Rice Bran
Rice bran is an economical, under-utilized co-product of rough rice milling. The objective of this study was to produce rice-bran peptides and investigate for anti-cancer activity. Protein hydrolysates were prepared by treating heat stabilized defatted rice-bran with food grade Alcalase enzyme, followed by treatment with simulated gastric and intestinal juices to obtain resistant peptides. BACKGROUND Rice bran is a by-product of the rice milling process and mostly discarded in Japan. Although many studies have shown that microbial fuel cells (MFCs) are able to generate electricity from organic wastes, limited studies have examined MFCs for generating electricity from rice bran. FINDINGS Laboratory-scale single-chamber MFCs were inoculated with paddy field soil and supplied with...
متن کاملScavenging Activity of Enzymatic Hydrolysates from Wheat Bran
Wheat bran was destarched and deproteinated by a-amylase, protease and amyloglucosidase successively, and further hydrolyzed using Bacillus subtilis xylanases. The yield of enzymatic hydrolysates from wheat bran (EHWB) was 1.84 %. The total phenolics were 0.3712 g of ferulic acid equivalents per gram of EHWB. The antioxidant potency of EHWB was evaluated using different assays, such as iron ion...

متن کاملEffects of Enzymatic Hydrolysis on the Foaming Properties of Whey Proteins
Changes in the foaming properties of whey proteins concentrate (WPC) subjected to enzymatic hydrolysis were studied. Activity and stability of the foam generated from the enzymatic hydrolysis of WPC with two proteases: Trypsin from porcine pancreas (analytical quality) and Alcalase 2.4 L FG (Alcalase) (commercial food grade) were analyzed. WPC solution at concentration 100 mg/mL in 50 mM phosph...
